Meet Jon Dowling

Not just another singer-songwriter but a modern day poet who was touched by an angel...

When Jon Dowling was only 14 years old, he wanted to be a drummer. He entered a contest and during his performance, he lost control of his stick and it hit one of the judges in the face. Undaunted, he picked up the stick and completed his number. He finished last, but never lost another contest. That mistake made him stronger and he credits a guardian angel with his success in life.

His latest album "Trials and Tribulations" is a tribute to Jon's determination to be one of the best singers in America. Not only has he moved to Los Angeles where most of the action is, he's working with a trainer to tone up his already fit body. His first single, "Out of the Dark" is making positive moves on the charts.

Raised in the East, Jon recently journeyed by car from the East Coast to California with his lawyer-wife who works in Beverly Hills. "That trip was amazing," Jon recalls. "The people in the Midwest were so cordial. My favorite states were Virginia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. But I think my favorite place in the United States is Hampton Beach, New Hampshire which is about 45 minutes from Boston."

Now that he lives in LA, Jon’s idea of a perfect day is exercising on the basketball court and then driving up the Pacific Coast highway to watch a California sunset. Unfortunately, Jon doesn't get the chance to have a perfect day very often. He's usually hard at work on his music. His most prized possessions are his musical instruments which include drums and a piano.

Choosing show business as a profession can give a man like Jon some frustrating moments, since he dislikes non-listeners and hypocrites, but his best qualities are persistence and overcoming adversity. All in all Jon's a well rounded talent bound for success.
